LAYER UP and COVER UP with UV-HALL

An unexpected melanoma scare for designer Lorraine Hall-Morison was the catalyst for the UV-HALL range of women's fashion clothing, combining sun protective qualities with stylish design.

The UV-HALL range is made using eco-friendly natural fibres such as New Zealand merino wool, organic cotton, bamboo, silk and cotton voile. The collection includes timeless swing duster coats, hooded wraps and long sleeve cowl neck tunics that can be thrown over togs or worn casually during balmy summer evenings as an added layer of protection from the sun.

The natural fibres allow the body to breathe in the warmer weather, with many of them also boasting inherent sun protective qualities. New Zealand Merino is one of the most efficient fabrics available for protecting the wearer from potentially harmful UV A and UV B radiation because wool absorbs radiation through the entire UV spectrum.

In keeping with her eco-friendly principals Lorraine also recycles her fabric off-cuts from production by gifting them to King St Artworks in Masterton, along with materials such as plastic fabric rolls.

This new line of sunsmart women's clothing from HALL, when worn layered, can offer valuable protection from the sun's harmful rays.
